Hacking Friendster Account

September 21, 2008

Friendster, Myspace, & Multiply Hacking:

Right! Due to the advanced computer literacy of people nowadays, even these social networks like Friendster, Myspace, Multiply, (etc) are also being hacked.

If you’re going to search in YouTube, you’ll find many tutorials on how to hack these social sites (sample video). According to them, this will be a very useful tool to unlock your boyfriend/girlfriend’s darkest secrets. But the question is: “Is this really appropriate?”

Hacking comes with privacy invasion. What would you feel if someone invades your privacy?

Another Friendster Hack Attack (BEWARE!)

Be careful on reading Friendster Bulletins. A friend of mine became a victim of this “attack” last month (he emailed this to me). According to him, after logging in, he noticed the bulletin, he was suddenly intrigued on how important that message could be because almost everyone was posting it.

The title was:

“Boob flashing of famous mestiza model in embassy last sat”

He clicked the title and read the following message:

“Fresh pix from the said incident last saturday at embassy bar is finally out. This famous mestiza commercial model and product endorser was doing it all for the camera, last sat night at embassy bar. Based on the sources this mestiza chic was apparently drunk and wasted at that incident, making her careless.. and bra-less if I may say… For sure you know this famous mestiza model. Almost 20 pix of the said incident are posted on this friendster link, check it out before they pull those naughty & mestizalicious pix out. check it out at www.friendster.com/embassyvip”

Although the title seems so vulgar, the message was written on a “kinda” decent way. The given link doesn’t lead to an executable file or whatsoever (it appears as if it leads to a different friendster profile). But upon clicking the link, an HTML table appeared and a black box loads up and displayed the following text:

Please wait… Photos still loading (don’t click on anything until all photos have loaded)

Then after a few minutes of waiting, the page went back to the bulletin page and to his surprise, he found some new postings (same message) from his own account!

He researched about it. And found out that a Markyctrigger (http://www.markyctrigger.com) was the one responsible for this.

Tips on How to Prevent Your Accounts From Being Hacked

1. Don’t add strangers to your contacts.

2. Don’t just click links posted on bulletins (even if it looks safe).

3. Don’t store important details/things into your social site (Friendster, Myspace, Multiply, etc)

4. Always keep your profiles private.

5. As much as possible, stop spreading your email addresses.
